Mohib Mirza (born 18 August 1979) is a Pakistani actor, theatre director, television host and comedian.

He is known for his work in film and television industry of Pakistan for which he has been nominated for various awards.

Personal life

Mirza married actress Aamina Sheikh, at Karachi. Their wedding was a three-day event taking place from 30 April to 2 May 2005. Mohib and Aamina met on the sets of a show which Mohib was hosting and Aamina was directing. In an interview given to Jang, Mohib revealed that he had the hardest time convincing Aamina's father and that each meeting with him involved "extensive grilling".

Career

Mirza debuted in 1999 as a stage actress. He was doing Bachelors in Commerce and was out of funds for the next semester, prompting him and his colleagues to form Dramaybazz, a theatre company of their own. They wrote and directed an Urdu play One Way ticket, which attracted a large response. Mirza was able to raise more than thrice the amount of money.

Mirza made his television debut in Sahira Kazmi's famous PTV drama series Zebunnisa, about a girl who becomes the victim of domestic abuse. Mirza has appeared in numerous television serials, telefilms, sitcoms, and television commercials since then.

He received international recognition for his film Insha Allah (2009), winning the Best Supporting Actor category at the International Filmmaker Film Festival in Kent, England. Mirza is the first Pakistani actor to be honoured at the festival. He is currently producing Silent Cinema, a pictorial book with which he hopes to revive Pakistan's film industry. The name, according to him, exemplifies how the Pakistani cinema is muzzled and that it must exhibit its true potential. Mirza will appear in the film along with Sanam Baloch, Juggan Kazim, and Sunita Marshall.

After four years with the drama Deedan, he returned to television serials in 2018.

He took a different route in 2022 with the film Ishrat Made in China, an action comedy that will be released in 2022.
