Early life and education
Miya was born in Dombivli, Mumbai, as a daughter of George Joseph & Mini George, a Catholic priest in A Syro Malabar, where her father worked as an engineer. She then migrated to Pala in Kottayam at the age of four. She completed her education at Sacred Heart Girls High School in Bharananganam and St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Bharananganam. She earned a B.A. St. Thomas College, Palai, has a degree from Alphonsa College in Palai and her Masters in English Literature. Gini, her older sister who is married to Lijo George and settled in Bangalore, has one elder sister. Miya married businessman Ashwin Philip at St. Mary's Basilica Church, Ernakulam, on September 12, 2020, in a simple ceremony due to COVID-19 limitations. They had a boy in July 2021. George Joseph, her father, died two months later on September 21, 2021.
Career
She began her work by appearing in television series Alphonsamma and Kunjali Marakkar. She weaned Doctor Love and Ee Adutha Kaalathu from the films. She rose to prominence after she was named the Kerala Miss Fitness 2012 in a beauty pageant. She made her debut as a heroine in Ettekaal Second, but the project was not released until 2014.
