What has happened to Jon Venables and Robert Thompson since James Bulger's murder?

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 21, 2023
James Bulger (middle)'s brutal murder of a toddler was a crime that disgusted and rattled the British people to their core. Jon Venables (left) and Robert Thompson (right), both aged ten, snatched the innocent two-year-old from outside a butcher's store in Bootle, Merseyside, on February 12. The two children were carried on a two-and-a-half mile walk from Liverpool to a village called Walton after abducting James. The three children were seen by 38 people on their way to the village, two of whom chastised them because the young boy had a bump on his head. The two-year-old was brutally tortured and killed, resulting in the death of James' mutilated body two days later on a railway line in Walton. But what have the pair done since they committed the notoriously horrific crime?

On the day of release, female prisoners serve in McDonald's: prisoners from Britain's "cushiest prison" are sold from Big Mac and fries to paying customers at a nearby McDonald's

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 10, 2023
EXCLUSIVE: On the day after being released from Askham Grange (top right), the prisoner was seen preparing meals for customers (left). During her shift at the burgeoning McDonald's restaurant in the Bilbrough Top Service area (inset) along the A64 York Leeds Road, she prepared meals for scores of customers. In the picturesque country village of Askham Richard, the woman was seen walking unescorted for 40 minutes back to her former stately home. Near York. She bought an ice cream before her two-mile walk, wearing an orange high visibility jacket over her McDonald's uniform. She talked to guards on the jail intercom, and the gate was opened to admit her at the end of her day of freedom.

Maxine Carr, Britain's most feared woman, has a deep story to tell

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 6, 2022
Maxine, the first trailer for the forthcoming new mini-series, chronicling the Soham murders through the eyes of murderer Huntley's fiancée, was released last week last week, ahead of the first episode's airing on Monday on Channel 5. Maxine Carr and Ian Huntley play in the tragedy, but critics have expressed displeasure with the show's timing, which was close to the 20th anniversary of schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman's death in May 2002. Despite her role in one of modern British history's most violent crimes, Carr has enjoyed a new life funded by the taxpayer. Since being arrested 18 years ago after just 21 months behind bars, she is said to have been moved to at least ten separate safe houses since her release 18 years ago. A dozen women are said to have been abused or threatened by people who mistakenly believed they were Carr, who is now married with at least one child. Carr's deception is expected to fuel anxiety, and it could happen again, with Britons paying the bill. According to MailOnline, "too much time and public money has been invested on her unethical identity." If her backstory is blown, they won't hesitate to move her once more.' Carr left Foston Hall prison in 2004 after just 21 months, and taxpayers will have to pay for her latest name, image, and police protection. Following her release, taxpayers could also pay the £8,000 bill for dental care and cosmetic surgery to make her appearance change. Her hair colour and style will have also changed. Carr was also said that she begged to have her shrinking breasts enlarged on the NHS for mental stability reasons, despite the fact that her breasts were still small.
