Early life
In Camarillo, California, Ireland was born and raised. She studied at the Idyllwild Arts Foundation in Idyllwild-Pine Cove, California, and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Hartt School, the performing-arts conservatory at the University of Hartford, Connecticut.
Career
In Nocturne (2001), Ireland's first off-Broadway theatre performance, a play written by Adam Rapp, which appeared at the New York Theatre Workshop. She appeared in the production during its run in the American Repertory Theatre New Stages presentation at the Hasty Pudding Theatre, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in October 2000. Caryl Churchill's Far Away (2002) at the New York Theatre Workshop is one of her off-Broadway performances. Willy Holtzman, a principal actor on Primary Stages, appeared in Sabina (2005).
