Luguentz Dort (born April 19, 1999) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA), who plays for basketball in the NBA, on a two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Blues of the NBA G League.
He played for the Arizona State Sun Devils in college.
He completed his high school career at the Athlete Institute in Mono, Ontario, where he was rated as a top high school recruit and was one of Canada's best high school students.
In his first year with Arizona State, he earned second-team All-Pac-12 Conference recognition and was named to the Pac-12's all-defensive team.

Early life
Dort was born in Montreal, Quebec, to Haitian parents who moved to Canada from Saint-Marc when they were around 21 years old. He began playing soccer as a goalkeeper, but his brothers encouraged him later to play basketball. Dort played street basketball at Saint Laurent Park in Montreal near his home. His participation in the sport helped him avoid joining street gangs like some of his peers. Dort began playing organized basketball in Park Extension, a neighborhood in Montreal, where he had been coached by Nelson Ossé at age 12. At the age of 15, he began weight training. His height at this point was 5 foot 11 inches (1.80 m). He will continue to grow at a rate of about one inch per year throughout his teenage years.
High school career
Dort spent his freshman year at a high school level in Quebec. He competed for Brookwood Elite on the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) circuit during his high school years. He played for Canada at the adidas Nations tournament in July 2015, averaging 9.2 points and 4 rebounds in four games. Terry has been a sophomore at Arlington Country Day School in Jacksonville, Florida, to excel in team competition and learn English. Nelson Ossé, his coach, begged him to improve his academic results before moving. Dort earned Canada second place at adidas Nations in August 2016 after 11.3 points in six games. Later this month, he was admitted to Nike Americas Team Camp, where he was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the All-Star game. Following his former Arlington Country Day coach Shaun Wiseman, Dort transferred to Conrad Academy in Orlando, Florida, for his junior season. He appeared in adidas Nations and the Nike Hoop Summit All-Star game in 2017. At the BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball Game, Dort also won team MVP awards. College career
Dort made his Arizona State debut on November 6, 2018, tallying 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals in a 102-94 victory over Cal State Fullerton in double-overtime. He set a school record for freshman debut points. In a 90–58 victory over Long Beach State, Dort, on November 12, made his first double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. In the heavyweight bracket of the MGM Resorts Main Event, he scored the third-most points by a freshman in Arizona State history on November 21, 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists against Utah State. He was named MVP of the tournament. Dort was named Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week a few days later. He struggled offensively towards the end of December, shooting a combined 9-of-45 from the field in four games from December 15 to 29.
Following Arizona State's defeat in the 2019 NCAA men's basketball tournament, Tom Dort declared that he will forego his final three seasons of collegiate eligibility and declare for the 2019 NBA draft.
Professional career
Dort signed a two-way deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft. In an overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, he made his NBA debut on December 6, 2019, playing 7 minutes and grabbing one rebound. In a 120-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings on January 29, 2020, Dort scored a career-high 23 points, a steal, and a block.
Dort was praised for his defense of James Harden during a seven-game loss and as "the best-effort defensive player in the NBA," by at least one source.
The Thunder announced on June 24, 2020, that they had re-signed Dort to a 4-year, $5.4 million contract. Dort scored a career-high 42 points in a 106–96 loss to the Utah Jazz on April 13, 2021, making seven 3-pointers in the process, which was also a career-high.
In a 120-114 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on February 2, 2022, Dort scored a season-high 30 points, 14 straight for the Thunder to end the game. He underwent season-ending surgery to fix a labrum tear in his left shoulder on March 8.
After his team's option was deferred, Dort re-signed with the Thunder on a five-year, $87.5 million contract.
