Professional career

In the first round (24th pick overall) of the 1991 NBA draft, the Boston Celtics selected Fox in the first round (24th pick overall). Fox became the first rookie starter on opening night since Larry Bird in 1979 and made the 1992 NBA All-Rookie Second Team after averaging 8 points per game. Fox became the team's starting small forward and had double-figure scoring by the 1995-96 season. He set career records of 15.4 points a game and 2.2 steals a game (fifth in the league) and made 101 three-point field goals in the 1996-97 season.

The Celtics cut Fox in 1997, and the Los Angeles Lakers signed him in the summer. During the 1997–98 season, he appeared and started in all 82 games, scoring 12 points per game. He tallied 10.9 points in a game as the Lakers advanced to the Western Conference Finals before losing to the Utah Jazz in the playoffs. The Lakers acquired All-Star small forward Glen Rice in the 1998–99 season. During the next two seasons, Fox mainly served as his back-up.

Fox appeared in all 23 games during the Lakers' 2000 NBA playoffs against the Indiana Pacers in the 1999–2000 season playoffs. Fox averaged 6.7 points, including 11 in the Lakers' game 1 victory. Fox scored a crucial three-pointer in game 6 to help the Lakers' last rally as they lifted the game and the NBA championship, which was Fox's first appearance.

Fox played 77 of 82 games in the 2000–01 season, scoring an average of 9.6 points a game while shooting 39% from three-point range. Fox appeared in all 16 games as the Lakers advanced to the NBA Finals against the Philadelphia 76ers in 2001. In the Lakers' game 1 loss, Fox scored 19 points; Allen Iverson's 48 points led the 76ers. The Lakers will take the next four games of the season, their second straight championship. Fox scored 20 points in his fifth game and made three of his three-point field goal attempts.

Fox appeared and appeared in all 82 games in the regular season and in all of the Lakers' 19 playoff games during the 2001–2002 season. The Lakers' game 7 victory over the Sacramento Kings was tense 7-game series, with Fox scoring 13 points.

In three of the 16 playoff games, the Lakers advanced to the 2004 NBA Finals but lost in 5 games to the Detroit Pistons. He would only play in three of 16 games. Fox averaged 6.1 points per game, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 56 NBA playoff games. Following the 2003–04 season, Fox was traded back to the Celtics as a result of Chucky Atkins' trade to the Lakers, but he chose to retire rather than playing for the Celtics. Fox made more than $34 million in salary during his 13-year NBA career.

Fox has appeared for Canada twice in the 1990 and 1994 FIBA World Championships.

Acting career

Fox obtained a bachelor's degree in radio, television, and Motion Pictures while attending the University of North Carolina. Fox debuted in the film Blue Chips as a member of the Western University basketball team in 1994. Terry Hastings appeared in the film Eddie, a struggling basketball player who receives support from fan "Eddie," directed by Whoopi Goldberg in 1996. Chick Deagan, the woman in the 1998 film He Got Game, a Spike Lee film, was then in charge of Fox. Fox appeared on 11 episodes of the HBO prison drama Oz in 1997, but it wasn't until 1997 that he played the most significant part of his early acting career. Vahue is a well-known basketball player who has been jailed for charges relating to a sexual harassment lawsuit. He then develops and beats a major heroin use. For the remainder of the first season, Fox appeared on the episode "To Your Health" and each of the following episodes. His character will be back in the second season at the start of the season as Vahue's probation is approaching. Vahue's character will appear in the show's last season as "Exeunt Omnes," when Vahue is almost killed by the character Brass.

In the 1999 film Resurrection, Fox played Detective Scholfield and Ray in the role of Ray. "I mean, Penny Marshall is courtside," Fox said at the time that he was struggling to strike a balance between his acting career and his sports career. In the second season of Ugly Betty, opposite his ex wife Vanessa Williams, Fox played Wilhelmina Slater's bodyguard and lover Dwayne. Following years, Fox decided to continue a series in which Prince Tyrese appears in six episodes. He appeared on BET's comedy-drama television show The Game in 2008 and 2009, as a fictionalized version of himself, and he's back for another run in the 2012 season finale. In 2008, Fox played a lead role in Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns as Harry, a coach attempting to represent Brenda's character, played by Angela Bassett. Fox appeared in the Comedies Party Down and Head Case in 2009, and he continues to appear on VH1's Single Ladies and Tyler Perry's House of Payne. Fox briefly appeared on the science-fiction film Dollhouse and took on a recurring role on the CW remake of Melrose Place in 2010. Donald Santini, America's Most Wanted fugitive, who spent 40 years on the run, has been sentenced to the 1994 murder of Cynthia 'Cindy' Wood (right), which will see him die in prison. Cynthia 'Cindy' Wood, 33, was arrested in Southern California in June for strangling to death. He appeared on America's Most Wanted three times - in 1990, 2005, and 2013 - and stayed on the list until cops got a warning in June that he had applied for a passport.
