Louie Spence (born 6 April 1969) is an English dancer, choreographer, and television presenter best known for the TV show Pineapple Dance Studios.

In his youth, he appeared in West End musicals, including Miss Saigon, Cats, and Closer to Heaven.

Pineapple Dance Studios has been selling around the world and has been on Ovation, the US network, since September 28.

Early life and education

Spence was born in Ponders End, Enfield, north of Greater London, and grew up in Braintree, Essex. He attended Notley High School before moving to the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

Career

Spence appeared in the West End as part of Miss Saigon's award-winning original cast. He went on to appear in Cats and Nearest to Heaven, as well as a variety of pop acts, including the Spice Girls, Take That, and Björk.

Spence, a judge and mentor on Trouble TV's Bump'n'Grind, from 2004 to 2006. Spence was a judge on the television series Cirque de Celebrité from 2006 to 2007, as well as the American version of the Celebrity Circus for NBC in 2008. Spence was the artistic director of the Covent Garden Pineapple Dance Studio in 2009 when he first appeared on a docu-soap Pineapple Dance Studios, which was a huge success. However, after first announcing that a second series would be produced, Sky1 retracted this decision due to struggling to comprehend studio owner Debbie Moore. Spence was then given his own Sky1 show, Louie Spence's Showbusiness, in 2011; however, the show was unable to take off and was cancelled after one series.

Spence shot his own TV show in New York City for the OWN network, which Oprah Winfrey owns. Spence will be a new judge on the ITV show Dancing on Ice, with Robin Cousins, Katarina Witt, and Karen Barber on December 3, 2011.

Spence performed in the twelfth series on August 22nd, 2013. He was chosen to be a 'Cult celebrity,' meaning he had the ability to nominate housemates for the first eviction on the first day. Spence survived three evictions during his time in the house, but he was evicted two days before the final.

Spence appeared in the second series of reality show The Jump on February 1st, and was eventually cut on Day 2 on February 1st.

Spence was cast in "Celebs on the Farm" in August and was exiled on day nine.
