Lisa Hartman Black (born June 1, 1956) is an American actress and singer.
Personal life
Hartman grew up in Houston, Texas. She married musician Clint Black in 1991; and the couple had Lily Pearl Black as a child in 2001. Since living in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles, California, they have lived in Nashville, Tennessee, since 2002.
Career
Hartman appeared on the short-lived Bewitched spin-off, Tabitha, from 1977-78. He made some minor television appearances. Neely O'Hara appeared on television in guest appearances, as well as in the 1981 CBS TV remake of Jacqueline Susann's Valley of the Dolls. She appeared on WLS-TV's 1979 film "You're Never Too Old" and worked at Marriott's Great America in Gurnee, Illinois.
Hartman's breakthrough as an actress came in 1982, when she debuts on the prime time drama Knots Landing, alongside rock singer Ciji Dunne. Her character was deeply involved in romances with the characters played by Ted Shackelford and Michael Sabatino. Hartman was well-known among viewers, and there was a public outrage in 1983 when Ciji was assassinated off-screen. Hartman was brought back to the show as Cathy Geary, also a performer, who later marries an unbalanced televangelist played by a teen Alec Baldwin as a substitute. Hartman remained with the show until 1986, when she was forced to leave due to budget cuts and because the show's editors felt there were no more storylines for her character. During her time on the series, she appeared in Allan Carr's film Where the Boys Are 84. She has also performed the film's theme tune.
Hartman released four solo albums between 1976 and 1987, two for Kirshner Records, one for RCA Records, and one for Atlantic Records. "If Love Must Go" is her most well-known song, performed on various television shows like Solid Gold and The Merv Griffin Show, and she appeared on numerous television shows including Solid Gold and The Merv Griffin Show. Despite further contributions from influential songwriters and producers like Jeff Barry, Dobie Gray, Bryan Adams, Rick Springfield, Will Jennings, and Holly Knight, the albums were not commercially profitable. She achieved her most notable success with a duet with her husband titled "When I Said I Do." On December 18, 1999, it was ranked #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts, and it was nominated for a Grammy Award. The duet was ranked No. 2 in the United States. In 2005, 11 of the 100 Greatest Duets in Country Music were selected by CMT. They launched "Easy For Me To Say," their second duet, which peaked at No. 10. In 2002, there were 27 on the country's music charts.
Hartman co-hosted Universal Studios Summer Blast, a television special commemorating Universal Studios' 30th anniversary.
