Lindsay Anne Shookus (born June 18, 1980) is an American television producer.
She has been nominated for nine Emmy Awards, three of whom have been honored three times for her appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Early life
While her mother, Christine, worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative, Shookus' father, Robert, owned a manufacturers representative company. She has one older brother, Jeff, and Sara, her younger sister. She was born in Williamsville, New York, and attended Williamsville South High School, where she served as president of her junior and senior high school classes. From 1998 to 2002, she studied journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Personal life
In 2002, Shookus met television producer Kevin Miller, who married in 2010. Madeline, their daughter, was born in early 2013. In 2014, the couple separated and later divorced. Ben Affleck appeared on television from 2017 to 2018, then again in early 2019.
Shookus endorsed Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential campaign and was a member of the Emily's List Creative Council.
Career
Shookus was hired as Marci Klein's assistant after graduating from college in 2002. She became an associate producer on the show and gained production credits on 45 episodes of 30 Rock between 2008 and 2010. She was named a producer in 2012 and was named as an SNL co-producer in 2010. She is in charge of the show's talent department, booking hosts, and musical guests, as well as scouting prospective cast members. In both 2015 and 2016, she was voted one of Billboard's Most Influential Music Executives. Shookus left the show in 2022 after 20 years on SNL.
In New York, Shookus and friend Kristin O'Keeffe Merrick host an annual "Work Fucking Hard" networking festival, which celebrates female entrepreneurs and encourages women to help each other thrive in business.
