Kurt Sutter Life

Kurt Leon Sutter (born May 5, 1964) is an American screenwriter, producer, and actor.

Margos Dezerian appeared on The Shield as a producer, writer, and director, as well as as a hitman.

Sutter is also the maker of Sons of Anarchy on FX; he wrote, produced, and directed the series, as well as played incarcerated club member Otto Delaney.

Sutter spent time in Northern California with members of a banned motorcycle club as part of his Sons of Anarchy's research.

Katey Sagal, Sutter's wife, was the show's lead actress.

Early life

Sutter was born in Rahway, New Jersey, and he was a born performer. His father worked at the GM plant in Linden, New Jersey, and his mother served as a secretary for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. He has two older sisters. He grew up in Clark, New Jersey, and graduated from Roselle Catholic High School in 1982.

Sutter earned a BA in mass media from Livingston College, which was located there—eventually graduating from Rutgers University with a minor in English in 1986. He went to New York City, studied Meisner technique, performed theatre, and taught at the Gately/Poole Conservatory. Sutter began attending Northern Illinois University for three years before earning his M.F.A. In both production and directing, I'm having a field day.

Personal life

In 2000, Sutter moved to Los Angeles, California. Katey Sagal, a Sutter married actress, married in Los Angeles, California, in a private ceremony on October 2, 2004. Esme Louise, their first child, was born on January 10, 2007. Ancesme was carried by a surrogate mother.

Sutter is an animal rights campaigner who is also a vegetarian. Sutter is also a motorcycle enthusiast.

Sutter was hired as a staff writer for the first season of FX crime drama The Shield's first season in 2002. With the episode "Blowback," in which he appeared as Armenian mob hitman Margos Dezerian, he made his television acting debut. He co-wrote "Dragonchasers" and "Two Days of Blood" with fellow staff writer Scott Rosenbaum, and was promoted to story editor for the second season in 2003. He produced the episodes "Scar Tissue" and "Dead Soldiers" and "Dead Soldiers" and spent time in the third season as a junior co-producer. With series creator and executive producer Shawn Ryan, "Slipknot" solo and "Mum" with consulting producer Charles H. E. Ee, he continued to write episodes and scripted "Playing Tight" and "Mum." In the season's final episodes "All In" and "On Tilt," he reprised his role as Dezerian.

In 2005, he was promoted to supervising producer for the fourth season. He wrote the episode "Grave" solo, co-wrote the script for Eglee's episode "Judas Priest" and co-wrote the teleplay with Rosenbaum. He co-wrote the script for Ryan's season finale "Ain't That a Shame"; Ryan co-wrote the script for the episode with co-executive producer Glen Mazzara; Sutter became a co-executive producer for the fifth season in 2006. He wrote the episode "Extraction," co-wrote Renee Palya and Tony Soltis' episode "Trophy") and co-wrote the episode "Fire in the Hole" with Eglee, and co-wrote the season's penultimate episode "Fire in the Hole."

He was executive producer for the sixth season of "Wins and Losses" and wrote the sixth-season premiere "On the Jones." He co-wrote the episode "Exiled" with Rosenbaum, who is now an executive producer.

For the seventh and final season in 2008, Sutter served as an executive producer and writer. He wrote the episode "Parricide" with Gary Lennon and wrote it. He was the series's second most prolific writer (after Ryan), having written or co-written 18 episodes in total.

Sutter produced and directed Sons of Anarchy, a new FX series that debuted in 2008. In a fictional town called Charming, California, the show focuses on the titular motorcycle club. He was both the series's head writer and showrunner. He wrote the episodes "Seeds," "Fun Town," "The Sleep of Babies," and "The Revelator" in conjunction with the pilot episode. He would continue to write 61 of the show's 92 episodes. Sutter appears on the show as incarcerated club member Otto Delaney, and he portrays his wife Katey Sagal in the starring role as the club's matriarch Gemma Teller Morrow. Sutter also recruited several crew members from The Shield's past, including unit production manager and producer Craig Yahata, as well as film and producer Guy Ferland, Stephen Kay, Terrence O'Hara, and Billy Gierhart. Jay Karnes, a Shield actor, appeared as a regular special guest star on The first season as ATF Agent Joshua Kohn. This is a trend that has continued in later seasons, with the majority of the main cast members of The Shield appearing in later episodes in a variety of roles.

For the series's second season in 2009, Sutter served as showrunner and executive producer. He co-wrote the episode "Oiled" with Erickson, now a co-executive producer, and series's star Katey Sagal's sister and sister-in-law, as well as his sister and brother-in-law. He co-wrote the episode "Widening Gyre" with co-producer Regina Corrado, as well as the episode "Lochan Mor" with Erickson and Liz Sagal. In 2014, Sutter announced that The Bastard Executioner, a new FX story, had begun. The series was ordered to pilot on December 12, 2014. Katey Sagal, Lee Jones, and Stephen Moyer have all agreed to participate in the pilot cast. The pilot was ordered to series on FX on May 22, 2015. After one season, the series was cancelled. Mayans M.C. was the Sons of Anarchy spinoff. After receiving multiple lawsuits about his "abrasive" and "unprofessional" behavior, Sutter was suspended from FX in October 2019. Sutter appeared in Chaos Walking, 2021's first feature film acting role.

Boom! Sutter is currently working on a 6-issue comic book miniseries. Lucas Stand, a Lucas Stand. On June 1, 2016, the first issue was published. Sisters of Sorrow, he's also published a comic book that was based on Sorrow's Sorrow, which was released at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con.

It was revealed in May 2021 that Sutter would direct a horror film named This Beast for Netflix.

Sutter would produce The Abandons, a Netflix western series, in November 2021.
