Early life and education
Turner was born in California on July 29, 1987. In Morongo Valley, California, she was raised on a ranch raising horses, goats, and chickens. Turner studied music and songwriting at the University of California, Santa Barbara. When she was at UCB, she performed in front of Kenny Loggins, who pleaded with her to move to Los Angeles, California, to pursue her education.
Career
Turner took Kenny Loggins' advice and migrated to Los Angeles to pursue a singing career. She worked with Humberto Gatica and David Foster but then migrated to Nashville, Tennessee, to start a country career.
Turner was signed to Columbia Nashville in July 2013. "Take the Keys" was Cary Barlowe and Jesse Frasure's co-written debut and was released on October 7, 2013.
