Kurt Hugo Schneider Career

Career

When they were both students at Wissahickon High School, Schneider and Sam Tsui started collaborating.

Schneider and Jake Bruene created the musical web series "College Musical Fall Semester 2008 at Yale." Sam Tsui and Allison Williams were among Schneider's project's musicians who performed in Yale's music community, which included Sam Tsui and Allison Williams. In January 2009, the first episode appeared on YouTube. They shot College Musical: The Movie, an independent film based on their online musical collection, during the summer of 2010 and then released online on September 3, 2014. On YouTube, a collection of behind-the-scenes videos for the film, shot and narrated by Nick Uhas, has been posted.

He made videos of Tsui singing covers and medleys.

With a video of a Michael Jackson medley, they attracted significant media attention. On Schneider's YouTube channel KurtHugoSchneider, this video is the ninth most watched (more than 34 million). This medley is one of many in which Schneider creates the appearance of a one-man cappella choir using video editing, with Tsui as the lead and backing vocals, as shown multiple times by himself. Time has characterized their medley videos as a mash-up of Glee and Attack of the Clones. The viral videos resulted in two television appearances, including The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Schneider's video of Tsui covering Hold It Against Me, in which Tsui performed and played the piano with Schneider on percussion, was posted on Britney Spears' official website on February 3, 2011.

The success of their videos has encouraged them to pursue other ventures. Since September 2010, Schneider and Tsui have continued to release videos of original songs, and Sam Tsui's debut original album, Make It Up, was released in May 2013.

Schneider has also made music videos in collaboration with other musicians. Christina Grimmie's Miley Cyrus medley, a duet between Tsui and Grimmie, "KurtHugoSchneider" with over two hundred million views), and a Starcraft-themed parody video of "Baby" starring Husky are among the popular video on 'KurtHugoSchneider' that has gained over two hundred million views. He's also parodied Rebecca Black's famous "Friday" with his spin being dubbed "Void Rays." On a medley of Rihanna songs, he has collaborated with Tiffany Alvord on a Taylor Swift medley and Matisse. Allison Williams, a former actor, appears in several of his early films. He has also worked with Max Schneider (no relation) on a number of occasions, including a Bruno Mars medley for Schneider and Victoria Justice, a Maroon 5 medley, and a Christmas medley. Schneider co-wrote 'Standing In China' with Schneider for Cody Simpson's album Paradise. Schneider was also a producer for a Yale musical admissions film, which features a cast made up of Tsui and fellow Yale students.

He has done a cover of "Beauty and the Beat" by Justin Bieber with Alex Goot and Chrissy Costanza of Against the Current, as well as a story about Demi Lovato's "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, as well as a summary of "Counting Stars" by OneRepublic, a copy of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore and "Heart

Schneider and Coca-Cola developed music videos showcasing creative covers of two 2011 singles: Calvin Harris' "Feel So Close" and Of Monsters and Men's "Little Talks" a campaign called "The Sounds of AHH" in 2013. On January 14, 2014, commercial edits of the singles premiered on FOX's inaugural episode.

He is shown making the track playing only Coca-Cola bottles, glasses, and cans in the two new versions, which Schneider has recreated. In addition, "Feels So Close" features Sam Tsui's vocals, while "Little Talks" sees him musically, led by beatboxing cellist Kevin Olusola.
