So far after the conclusion of a chaotic group stage, the brilliant and bizarre moments at AFCON have been: Iconic triumphs, SIX administrators' departures, nearly 100 goals, and a player injured trying a back-flip!

The Africa Cup of Nations is unquestionably one of the most exciting international football tournaments. There aren't many other sports where you can get 40-yard free-kick screamers, Hand Of God attempts, and players with injuries trying to do a back-flip in preparation all mixed into one. AFCON has already provided us with so many talking points; we're only just passed the group stages and we've had unbelievable giant-killings and no fewer than six managerial casualties - and one of which with their side still in the running!
Kylian Mbappe, a world Cup champion, leads the team alongside a former Chelsea forward, while Man United, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all backline players, who may have been eligible to play at AFCON

The Africa Cup of Nations is officially underway, and we've already had some exciting matches in the early stages of the tournament. Cape Verde's last-gasp win over Ghana, arguably one of the largest upsets, was perhaps one of the biggest surprises of the weekend. Equatorial Guinea won by a 1-1 draw, while the 2021 finalists, Egypt, did not gain a victory against Mozambique, with both teams ending their match 2-2. Zambia took the lead against Congo on Wednesday after their goalkeeper charged out of the box and was left in no-man's land until Kings Kangwa floated the ball into the back of the net from long range. We've assembled our AFCON XI featuring some of the top players with dual nationality who may have appeared at AFCON 2023, from Kylian Mbappe to Curtis Jones.
In AFCON match, Zambia takes the lead against Congo after goalkeeper Charlie out of the box and was left in no-mans land... as Avram Grant's team kicks out a goalkeeper and scores long-range screamer

After capitalizing on a quick throw-in, Zambia took their lead against Congo in their Africa Cup of Nations opener in a strange way. After Congo goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi-Nzau came running out of his box, Kings Kangwa opened the scoring in the 23rd minute of the match at the Stade Laurent Pokou. Mpasi-Nzau had charged out of his area to meet a long-ball player before the oncoming Zambia player realized that he had come too far.
