Life and career

Kilner was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and the son of Dorothea, a kindergarten teacher, and Edward Kilner, who worked in advertising sales and insurance. He went to Dulaney High School in Baltimore County. In 1989, he made his first television appearance on an episode of The Cosby Show. He is perhaps best known for his role as the protagonist in Earth's first season: Final War, as well as Officer Dean in The Stone Age.

Kilner appeared in Almost Perfect as Nancy Travis, a screenwriter, in 1995-1996, but Kilner was written out of the film in the second season premiere. He appeared on two episodes of Joss Whedon's show Dollhouse in 2009.

Kilner is alumnus of both Dulaney High School and the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He was a member of the National Champion lacrosse team while attending Johns Hopkins.

He appeared on stage in Wait Until Dark's Alley Theatre production from June 30 to July 16, 2006.
