Club career
Logan was a member of Glasgow District, the amateur provincial team. The Glasgow Rugby team was established in 1996 and the professional period began, and Glasgow Rugby became Glasgow Rugby. He competed for the newly promoted Scottish Inter-District Championship in three matches from 1996–97 as well as two matches in the European Challenge Cup, the European Conference, in that season.
Logan has the honor of being named as the fullback in Warriors' first match as a professional team against Newbridge in the European Challenge Cup, while Newbridge's Jonathan Coveney is the recipient. The provincial team scored 15 points.
Logan played for Wasps in 1997 for his first season in English rugby. Logan was with Wasps for seven seasons. Although Wasps won the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 1999 and 2000, he was a replacement in the 1999 final but started and scored a try and a conversion in 2000. He also helped Wasps win the 2002–03 Premiership Final. He resigned for Glasgow in 2004 before joining London Scottish after a season. In 2005, he was cut from playing.
International career
Logan made his Scotland debut against Australia in 1992 at the age of 20. He was in and out of the team before establishing a place in the 1994 Five Nations Championships, securing his spot in the starting lineup. He appeared in the 2003 World Cup for the third time. He earned 70 caps over an 11-year career, scoring 20 tries in the process. After the 2003 World Cup, he resigned from international rugby unions.
