Kavi Shastri (born 19 February 1986 in London) is a British film and television actor as well as an established name in the Indian Film Industry.
Early life and education
In London, England, Kavi Shastri was born to a Gujarati family. Kaushik, Geeta, and his older brother Ravi all arrived in South Woodford, London. Shastri attended George Tomlinson Primary School in Leytonstone, East London, and studied at local dance and drama clubs. He was accepted into The Padmini Kolhapure School of Acting in London at the age of nine, and he appeared at various London venues throughout his primary years.
Shastri began his studies at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in 1997. He trained in Ballet, Tap Dancing, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, and Drama, as well as academic studies. Shastri appeared in television's This Morning and BBC One's Holby City while at school. In 2003, Kavi received a government scholarship to attend the Academy of Sciences. He appeared in three seasons of CBBC's hit drama show UGetMe and the British film It Could Be You while attending college. Shastri travelled to India as part of his film career. Shastri earned a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts, and he was given an Academy Honor for his work in Drama.

Shastri married Australian Indian Sherryl Wiltshire in Mumbai in January 2012, and the pair now reside in Mumbai, India.
Career
Shastri appeared on ITV's The Bill and in British comedy film Popcorn after graduating from college. In 2009, he moved to India and joined Anupam Kher's Actor Prepares. After graduation, he appeared in Imtiaz Ali's Hindi film Love Aaj Kal, where he first met Vir Das. Both the pair returned to Mumbai to create 'Weirdass Comedy', which performed stand-up comedy shows and events around India and abroad, and they also wrote scripts for the Filmfare Awards, Zee Cine Awards, and Stardust Awards.
Shastri appeared on the Indian television show Rishta.com in 2008, which debuted on Sony Entertainment Television on January 3, 2010. Shastri was named the best newcomer at the 10th Indian Telly Awards after four nominations at award shows. Shastri then appeared in Kismat, a YRF Television version of Kane and Able.
In late 2011, Shastri and Das performed together at Sophia Auditorium as part of Ashvin Gidwani's History of India.
Shastri shot his first two films, Amit Sahni Ki List and Main aur Mr Riight back to back. Later, he appeared in Aurangzeb, a 2013 Yash Raj Films project.
