Personal life
Pedaru was born in Kehra, Estonia. Since her mother died when Pedaru was five years old, she was raised by her grandmother. Pedaru was interested in sports from the start, especially since he was born in an athletic family. She competed in a variety of sports, including basketball, association football, and handball from the age of six. She played goalkeeper on Estonia's national U-19 football team for a year before deciding to pursue modeling.
Career
Pedaru was discovered in 2005, in Tallinn, at the age of 15, at the Draamateater theater. She signed with Next Models and appeared in a Teen Vogue editorial shortly after. During the spring 2007 season, she made her runway debut when she walked for Christopher Kane. During New York Fashion Week's fall 2008 runways, she had walked 43 runways, appearing in shows including Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Givenchy, and Dries Van Noten.
Since then, Pedaru has been featured in advertisements for Chloe, Gucci, Jill Stuart, Missoni, Nicole Farhi, Ralph Lauren, and Derek Lam. Carmen Kass, the Estonian model, was hired as Michael Kors' new star in 2011, but she appeared in a Belstaff campaign with actor Ewan McGregor in 2011. Pedaru has walked for many designers in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, including Shiatzy Chen, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Christian Dior, D&G, Diane von Furstenberg, Manuel Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Versace, and Yves Saint Laurent.
