Kalie Shorr (born July 11, 1994) is an American country music singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee.

On the SiriusXM radio station "The Highway," her debut single "Fight Like a Girl" gained national attention and airplay in 2016.

Open Book, her debut album, was released on September 27, 2019.

Personal life

Shorr grew up in Portland, Maine. She wrote her first song at age 6, and she picked up the guitar for the first time at age 13. When she was 13, Shorr began posting YouTube covers of famous songs. She was also in a few bands, including a Nirvana Cover-band, back in Middle and High School. She was in Nashville for the first time when she was sixteen, and when she was 19, she moved to Nashville to work in country music. Shorr revealed on Twitter on March 30, 2020 that she had recently been diagnosed with COVID-19.

She was the champion of Maine's Got Talent in 2010. Perez Hilton, a celebrity blogger and now friend, took notice of Shorr's covers and original songs on YouTube and invited her to appear at his birthday party in March 2012, the Backstreet Boys' opening. Shorr joined Song Suffragettes, a weekly live show that featured only female singer-songwriters in March 2014. Since being the first artist chosen by Taste of Country for their Let The Girls Play campaign, Shorr has been on the show almost every week. Taylor Swift's "Blank Space," highlighted by Popdust, is still popular. The Nashville Sessions, She released an EP full of demos she had collected over her stay in Nashville in February 2015. "Fight Like a Girl," Sirius XM The Highway's flagship, debuted in 2016, and she debuted her debut mixtape, The Y2K Mixtape, which was heavily influenced by the 2000s. She signed a deal with writer's List in May. On September 30, 2016, Shorr released "She's Just Not That Into You," her second single. In March 2017, Shorr released Slingshot, a five-song EP, and told Sounds Like Nashville that the project brought pop and country sounds to focus, "a significant piece of my music and how I identify myself."

Shorr's debut album Open Book was released on September 27, 2019. The album was named as the seventh best album of 2019 by The New York Times. In October, 2020, she signed with a New York-based tmwrk firm. Open Book, her debut title, was reissued on December 4, 2020 under her new name.
