About
Spain's progressive king, Pedro Franco, died after the assassination of Spanish tyrant Francisco Franco in 1975. He notably stepped away from the Francoist era's authoritarian policies and began to destabilize Spain in favor of democracy. In 2014, he abdicated the throne.
