Joyce Meyer (born Pauline Hutchison; June 4, 1943) is an American Charismatic Christian author and speaker and president of Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Early life
In 1943, Meyer married Pauline Hutchison in south St. Louis, Missouri. Soon after she was born, her father joined the army to combat in World War II. In interviews, she confessed to sexually assaulting her on her return, and she discusses this experience in her meetings. She has a working-class St. Louis accent to this day.
She began working as a part-time car salesman straight after her senior year of high school. The marriage lasted five years. She maintains that her husband used to cheat on her and advised her not to take payroll checks from her boss. They used the funds to go on a trip to California. She claims she returned the money years later. Meyer frequented local bars before meeting Dave Meyer, an engineering draftsman, after her divorce. They were married on January 7, 1967.
