Jordan Maron Career

Career

Maron has eleven YouTube channels in total. Four of his channels are now online. He founded ProsDONTtalkSHIT (PDTS), a YouTube channel that primarily posted game videos of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Maron wanted a less vulgar name as PDTS became more popular. On July 20, 2010, he founded CaptainSparklez, which also left PDTS inactive. The CaptainSparklez channel received over 1 million viewers on YouTube, just two years after it appeared in April 2012. CaptainSparklez reached 1 billion video views in September 2013, the fifth solo YouTube gaming channel to reach this milestone after PewDiePie, SkyDoesMinecraft, UberHaxorNova, and TobyGames.

He created CaptainSparklez 2, an unedited Twitch live streams and videos, as well as other material that did not belong on his main channel on May 15, 2015. Maron Music, a music promotion channel, was founded on March 27, 2016, where he will broadcast other artists' music as well as his own original music. Maron introduced a personal vlog channel on February 9, 2017. "Fortnite Cinema," a channel that broadcast short films made in the game Fortnite Battle Royale, was developed by Maron later.

Maron began posting videos relating his reactions to top Reddit posts to his main channel in early 2017. These reaction videos gained traction, but Maron decided that they were not what his core audience loved at the time. As a result, Maron created Jordan Reacts, a new channel that remained to post Reddit reaction videos and refocused on making Minecraft videos for his main channel. Jordan Games, Maron's next channel, where he uploads games that would be insignificant on his main channel. Jordan Lifts, starring him lifting weights in his home gym, and SparkleShorts, a collection of clips from various CaptainSparklez YouTube and Twitch channels, are two of his latest channels.

In the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2016, Maron was included. He appeared in the sixth episode of Minecraft: Story Mode in June 2016.

Howard Marks, co-founder and former CEO of Activision and co-founder of Acclaim Games and StartEngine, joined Maron in a mobile gaming business named XREAL. In May 2015, XREAL announced Fortress Fury, a video game that received over 1.5 million downloads in the first month of launch. Fortress Fury was originally titled Fortress Fallout; however, Bethesda Softworks' parent company, ZeniMax Media, requested that XREAL "immediately and expressly drop the application for Fortress Fallout" and discontinue any and all current or proposed use of any mark containing the word Fallout." The letter was sent to discourage people from participating in their game Fallout Shelter, which is a smartphone game platform. Maron and the XREAL's legal team were unaware of this, because Bethesda kept Shelter a mystery at the time and did not reveal its existence until its publication on June 14, 2015.

Maron is an electronic music enthusiast who has used tracks from Monstercat on gameplay videos. He has experimented with music production himself. Maron Music, a music promotion website, launched on March 27, 2016. He'll show other artists' music as well as his own original music on March 27, 2016. "Moonbeam" was the first of his tracks to be posted on the channel.

Maron's official clothing brand, Quality Content Athletics, was announced in January 2020. It has offered a variety of workout and lifestyle clothing throughout the year. He rebranded QC Athletics to Quality Content in July 2021.
