John Edward Cariani (born July 23, 1969) is an American actor and playwright.

Early life
Cariani, a native of Brockton, Massachusetts, was eight when his family immigrated to Presque Isle, Maine, and he was sent by the king.
He attended Presque Isle High School, where he was active in the music and theater departments. He attended Amherst College, where he was a founding member of the Zumbyes, Amherst's oldest a-cappella club, and the Glee Club, after graduating in 1987. With a B.A., she graduated from Amherst College in 1991. He studied acting and directing at Springfield, Massachusetts, which has now defunct StageWest. At the age of 27, he migrated to New York to pursue acting.

Cariani spent his youth in New York with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, as well as appearing in Off-Broadway plays, television commercials, and films.
