Joel Howard "J.

H." Wyman (born January 5, 1967) is an executive producer, screenwriter, director and musician. He is best known for his work as an executive producer, writer, director and showrunner on the FOX science fiction series Fringe and for creating the FOX science fiction series Almost Human.

In addition to his television work, he also wrote and produced The Mexican (2001) and Dead Man Down (2013).

Life and career

Wyman was born in Oakland, California, but he grew up in Montreal, Quebec, where he appeared. He left Toronto to pursue an acting career and then attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, California.

Wyman went back to writing and producing after a short time as an actor (using the stage name Joel Wyner) which included roles in the TV series Catwalk (1992) and Sirens (1993). Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt, directed by renowned filmmaker Gore Verbinski, appeared in The Mexican (2001) in Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt, his first major film script. Keen Eddie, who later created the FOX series Keen Eddie (2003), was then a producer.

Wyman appeared on the first season of the FOX science fiction film Fringe as a writer and co-executive producer in 2008. He was promoted to executive producer and co-showrunner at the start of season two (titles he shared with Jeff Pinkner). He became the sole showrunner at the start of season five. "A Short Story About Love" (Season 4, Episode 15), as well as the season-five finale, "An Enemy of Fate," he wrote two episodes.

Wyman is the creator, executive producer, and showrunner of the FOX science-fiction series Almost Human (2013).

Wyman formed Frequency Films, which produced films and television shows such as Pale Saints, Keen Eddie, Almost Human, and Dead Man Down.

He is also a guitarist and appears with the alternative rock band Angels of Mercy. Angels of Mercy's self-titled debut will be released on December 4, 2016, according to Main Man Records.

Wyman wrote a script for the pilot episode of a new Debris television series for Legendary Television and Universal Television on January 11, 2020. NBC announced on June 29, 2020 that the series had been granted a serial order.
