Joe Bonsall Life

Joseph Sloan Bonsall, Jr. (born May 18, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American singer who has performed with the country/gospel vocal quartet The Oak Ridge Boys since 1973.

He is also an author.

Bonsall, in addition to charting many hits as a member of the Oak Ridge Boys, has a solo chart appearance with the band Sawyer Brown in their 1986 album "Out Goin' Cattin'," on which he was credited as "Cat Joe Bonsall." Bonsall released The Molly Books in 1997, and GI Joe and Lillie, a book about his parents' lives during and after World War II, was published in 2003. He was born in 1948 to Joseph Sloan Bonsall, Sr. (1925-2001), and Lillie Maude Collins (1924–2001).

Both are buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

Nancy Marie, his younger sister, was born on August 24, 1953.

Joe Bonsall, a member of the country and gospel vocal quartet Oak Ridge Boys, has died at the age of 76.  Bonsall passed away on Tuesday due to complications with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.  In January, Bonsall announced he would be retiring from touring with the quartet due to his battle with the disease.
