Early life
Dye was born in Seattle and raised in Kent, Washington, in 1983. He attended Kentwood High School in Covington. Dye is of Spanish, French-Canadian, German, and Jewish descent.
Personal life
Janice, Dye's elder sister, died in a car crash in Albany, Oregon, on December 3, 2015. Dye did not learn to read until he was 20 years old due to undiagnosed dyslexia. Dye is well-known for his love of Bigfooting and lives in Los Angeles, California.
Career
Dye has produced two series for MTV—Numbnuts and Strangers—and also appeared on Girl Code. He was a finalist on the sixth season of the NBC series Last Comic Standing, finishing third behind Marcus and winner Iliza Shlesinger. He then appeared on a 50-city tour with the other top performers.
Before appearing in his own half-hour comedy special titled Comedy Central Presents Jeff Dye in 2010, Dye appeared at the TBS Comedy Festival in Chicago and Comedy Central's Live At Gotham. Dye appeared on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as a recurring cast member as of 2011.
Dye was the host of MTV's Club New Year's Eve 2013 Live from Time's Square. Dye can be seen as the lead in Dierks Bentley's award-winning music video Drunk on a Plane. Dye was a reporter for Spike TV's Comic-Con All Access 2014. In January 2015, he endorsed the Seattle Seahawks for ESPN's Enemy Territory. Dye was also a regular cast member of NBC's game show I Can Do That, which aired in the summer of 2015. Dye appeared on Ken Reid's TV Guidance Counselor podcast on September 16, 2015. When they toured Asia, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman, and Henry Winkler appeared on the 2016 reality show Better Late Than Never. On season 3, episode 18 of the game show ridicule, Dye was also a contestant competing for charity.
Dye returned to Better Late Than Never in 2017-2018, with Shatner, Bradshaw, Foreman, and Winkler as "The Sidekick" as they traveled Europe and Morocco. Dye appeared in The Wedding Year in 2019. Dye, Masked Singer and I Can See Your Voice, appeared on The Masked Singer and I Can See Your Voice in 2020 and 2021.
