Jason Michael Gedrick (born February 7, 1965) is an American actor best known for his appearances on the television series Murder One and Boomtown, as well as the motion picture Iron Eagle.

Early life

Jason Michael Gedroic was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is of Polish descent. He changed his surname to "Gedrick" and began his career as an extra in films like Bad Boys (1983) and Risky Business (1983).

He appeared in The Heavenly Child (1985), Iron Eagle (1986), and Promised Land (1987), as well as Director Michael Hoffman's directing of the first few minutes of the film. (1991) and Crossing the Bridge (1992). Gedrick appeared in television series such as Class of '96 (1993) and Sweet Justice (1994).

Gedrick appeared in the film The Force with Yasmine Bleeth and Kim Delaney in 1994. He appeared in Steven Bochco's 1995 television series Murder One, which followed Gedrick's character, bad-boy actor Neil Avedon's murder of a 15-year-old teen. He was one of several cast members who were deleted from the show and replaced by Anthony LaPaglia due to poor ratings. Gedrick's next big project was the three-hour TV film The Third Twin (1997), a crime based on British writer Ken Follett's best-selling 1996 book, in which he discovers he has a twin; and in fact several more twins were cloned by an evil millionaire university donor and biomedical technology CEO.

Gedrick made his name in television series such as EZ Streets (1996), Falcone (2000), and The Beast (2001), none of which were big hits. He appeared on Ally McBeal in 1999 as the "hot car wash guy." He appeared in Mario Puzo's 1997 miniseries The Last Don, as well as its sequel, The Last Don II. In 2002's Boomtown, Gedrick returned to television screens as Tom Turcotte. The series, which also starred Donnie Wahlberg and Neal McDonough, was a moderate success, but after the show's format was changed, viewers' numbers plummeted and Boomtown was cancelled.

In 2003, Gedrick portrayed Andrew Luster, the infamous rapist in a Lifetime film based on his conviction, A Date with Darkness. Gedrick appeared in the 2006 NBC television film Windfall, as well as Luke Perry and Gedrick's ex Boomtown alumnus Lana Parrilla. In 2007, Gedrick appeared alongside Donnie Wahlberg in the A&E original film Kings of South Beach. On ABC, he was also the new love interest at Scavo's Pizzeria in Desperate Housewives in seasons 3 and 4. He appeared in Lie to Me, which was in 2009.

He appeared as Dr. J. D. Aldridge, a former graduate school instructor and potential love interest for series lead Callie Thorne in 2011. He appeared in the 2006 film Hidden Places alongside Sydney Penney and Shirley Jones.

Gedrick appeared in the HBO series Luck, which aired in 2012 for one season. Gedrick appears in a multi-episode arc as the boss of a Miami-area gentlemen's club that is also connected to a high-profile murder case in season 7 of Dexter. In the Hallmark film The Wishing Tree, Evan Farnsworth, a struggling professor at a prestigious Maine boarding school, debuted in November 2012.

Gedrick appeared on an episode of NBC's Grimm in late 2012. Raynard Waits, a serial killer on Amazon Prime original television series Bosch, had a season-long career in 2015, as well as a recurring role as Liam in The CW's 2012 series Beauty & the Beast.
