James Norman Hall Life

James Norman Hall (1887–51), a writer best known for the Bounty Trilogy, three historical books he wrote with Charles Nordhoff (1932), Men Against the Sea (1934), and Pitcairn's Island (1934).

Hall had the distinction of serving in the militaries of three Western allies, first in the United Kingdom as an infantryman and then in France and the United States as an aviator.

The Croix de Guerre, the Médaille Militaire, the Légion d'Honneur, and the Distinguished Service Cross are among his prizes.

Hall lived on Tahiti, where he and Nordhoff wrote a number of popular adventure books, many of which were adapted for film after the war.
