Imani Hakim (born August 12, 1993) is an American actress.

She is best known for her role as Tonya Rock on the UPN/CW sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, as well as portraying Olympic gold medalist Gabrielle Douglas in the 2014 Lifetime original film The Gabby Douglas Story.

Career

Hakim was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She has two older brothers and three younger brothers. When she was seven, she studied at the Karamu House Theater in Cleveland. When she was 11 years old, she persuaded her parents to encourage her to pursue a career in acting, and she and her father moved to Los Angeles with her father to find jobs. They were homeless at the time and slept in their cars a lot. However, she landed her first appearance as Chris' little sister Tonya on Everybody Hates Chris within a few months. From 2005 to 2009, the series was on-air for four seasons. She was homeschooled at the time. Hakim continued to study acting at Alexander's Workshop School in Lakewood and at The Young Actor's Space in Burbank.

In the Lifetime biopic The Gabby Douglas Story (2014), Hakim appeared as Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas. The following year, she appeared in a supporting role in Robert Ri'chard's film Chocolate City.

Dana, a video game tester, appears on Apple's TV+ comedy series Mythic Quest as of 2020. In 2021, the show was revived for a third season. In 2020, she appeared in the film Dinner Party.
