Born Tracy Marrow, he is a member of the British heavy metal band Body Count, which debuted the controversial track "Cop Killer" in 1992. Despite the anti-police message he had in his most popular song, he went on to portray a cop on the long-running NBC drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
