Ian Paice Life

Ian Anderson Paice (born 29 June 1948) is an English singer best known as the drummer and the last remaining original member of the English rock band Deep Purple.

Personal life

Paice is married and has three children: James, Emmy, and Calli. Jacky is the twin sister of late Jon Lord's wife, Vicky.

Paice has only one lung, according to legend (and even hinted by former Gillan guitarist Bernie Torme in an interview): in reality, he is only missing a portion of the lower lobe in his left lung due to his mother's disease when he was six years old, which developed into tuberculosis.

He is almost always seen sporting glasses with blue (or occasionally green or purple)-tinted spectacle lenses.

Paice is a England rugby supporter and has a vast knowledge of the game. James' uncle, James, was a long time player. In Luca Travin's "Oval Bin" Exhibition, he discussed it.

He suffered a transient ischaemic attack, or mini stroke, on June 14th, 2016. Deep Purple has had to cancel two concerts scheduled in Sweden this week due to this. He said after the incident that there was "no significant or permanent harm" and that he would return to perform in July. He said that the cancelled concerts were the first Deep Purple performances of which he had compelled the cancellation after co-founding of the band in 1968. On July 1, he returned to stage with Deep Purple in Gothenburg, but not on stage with the band, but not without playing his drum solo.

Deep Purple, a rock legend, has announced that they will be back on tour after splitting 42 years ago. The seventies band, as well as Smoke On The Water and Black Night, were one of Britain's most popular bands with a massive 100 million albums sold worldwide. With their 1 More Time Tour, the band is expected to return to the stage, with 90s indie-rockers Reef as their support.
