Hector Fonseca Life

Hector Fonseca (born January 10, 1980 in Bronx, New York City, New York) is a worldwide known house music DJ.

Fonseca is one of the most requested remixers in the music industry due to his ability to turn many commercially released songs into club hits.

Early years

Hector, who was born in suburban Clifton, New Jersey, in a tight knit Puerto Rican family, first began to flirt with notoriety early in his career as a fashion model. Hector decided to pursue other exciting ventures and later enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania, where he concentrated on corporate administration for three years, despite the fact that his success in the sector had been limited. His interest in music began to grow in college, and after serious consideration, he turned to the burgeoning tribal and house music scene in New York in the late 1990s.

Word of mouth began to circulate among Hector's rising success with his expertise and a dedicated following of followers. He will soon be able to residencies at most of New York City's legendary nightclubs, such as the Limelight, Heaven, Splash & Roxy, as well as several national shows. With a list of venues that read like a who's who of city nightclubs, he piqued the attention of his mentor, the late Grammy Award-winning DJ/producer/remixer Peter Rauhofer. Rauhofer, the maker and operator of Star69 Records, wanted to know if or not Fonseca's musical roots extended beyond the turntables.

Fonseca solidified his place in dance music's hall of fame in the summer of 2004 with his interpretation of Jahkey B's "Heart Attack." His remix of the song boosted the album to the number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart. His sequel to Shelia Brody's "U Ain't That Good" debuted on the same chart, solidifying his position as one of the dance music industry's best remixers.

He was named out Magazine's Hottest DJ in 2007 for launching the now famous "electribal" sound (a blend of tribal, vocal, and electro house). To name a few of the major circuit party events he has covered in the past include the White Party (both Palm Springs and Miami), the Black and Blue Festival (Montreal), Circuit Festival (Miami), Maxima (Miami), Prism Pride (Toronto), and Scream (Paris). In addition to these performances, he has hosted residencies at "Fly" (Toronto) ("Miami") and "Reflex" (Los Angeles).

Hundreds of Billboard #1 Dance Chart remixes have been compiled by Hector, Beyoncé, Erika Jayne, Katy Perry, Kerli, Lenny Kravitz, Mel B, Rihanna, Petshop Boys, Sia, and many others. "Mile High" was his first original composition/collaboration with legendary 1980s band Blondie in 2013. He collaborated with club divas Natascha Bessez, Inaya Day & Maya Simantov for his forthcoming self-titled album, which was also released by the Audio4play Records brand in 2014. He formed Theresa Velasquez, a self-driving house music company.
