Leicester WILL be free to sign players during the summer transfer window despite being placed under embargo by the EFL - with the Premier League not planning on extending it despite ongoing legal battle

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 29, 2024
EXCLUSIVE BY MATT HUGHES: The EFL imposed a registration embargo on Leicester for allegedly breaching the upper loss limits in their PSR forecasts for this season, but the Premier League have no current plans to extend it following their promotion despite being locked in an extraordinary legal battle with the club. Leicester will officially become a Premier League club at the top-flight's Annual General Meeting on 6 June, effectively triggering the end of the transfer embargo before the summer window opens later in the month. Leicester are braced for a busy summer, as based on the EFL's forecasts will need to sell players before 30 June to avoid being charged with breaching PSR regulations this season.

GRAHAM HILL AT KING POWER STADIUM AND GRAHAM THOMAS AT CARDIFF CITY STADIUM: Foxes boss Maresca admitted his side pulled off a 'lucky' win over West Brom, but his team now need two victories from their remaining three games to make sure of a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking. There is a scenario where they could go up on Tuesday night if they beat Southampton at the King Power Stadium, but that depends on Leeds losing at Middlesbrough on Monday.

After being arrested at more than double the legal limit driving his wife's Range Rover on the wrong side of the road in early hours, Leicester City star Hamza Choudhury is fined £20,000 - less than two weeks' pay - and barred from the streets

Despite being more than double the legal alcohol limit in the early hours, Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard that the 26-year-old made the 'impulsive and spontaneous' decision to drive back to a restaurant to retrieve his phone. Choudhury, a married father of three young children, realised he had 'let himself and his family down,' his lawyer said. The court was shown a dashcam video of a traffic patrol activating blue lights and speeding through red lights behind Choudhury, who did not pass any red lights himself.
