Gustavo "El Tigrillo" (English: Ocelot) Yacamán Aristizabal (born February 25, 1991) is a Colombian racing driver from Santiago de Cali, Colombia.
Yacamán began his career in open-wheel racing but in 2012, he switched to endurance racing.
He competed in the United States before joining G-Drive Racing in 2015, where he rode a Ligier in the WEC Championship and finished third in the LMP2 class for the third time.
Yacamán converted to a sprint format in 2016, driving for BMW Team Teo Martn in the International GT Open series.
He was the runner-up for the 2016 Championships.
Racing career
After winning the American Stars of Karting competition in 2005, he went straight to the Spanish Formula Three Championship for the 2006 season, a big jump for a young driver. In the championship, he finished 16th. He also competed in Master Junior Formula in Europe and finished 4th. Yacamán won his first victory and finished 8th in Spanish Formula Three last year. In 2008, he won his second match and finished 9th in Spanish F3.
He returned to the United States in 2009 to compete in the Firestone Indy Lights Series with Sam Schmidt Motorsports. With a best finish of 4th at the Milwaukee Mile, he came in 12th in points. He returned to the sport in 2010 with Wayne Taylor Racing's rookie team Cape Motorsports. Yacamán also ranked 10th in points and finished in his first podium finish with a 3rd place at Toronto. In 2011, he returned to the series for a third season, this time with Team Moore Racing. He won his first game at Baltimore late in the season and ranked fourth in points. At the 2012 Firestone Freedom 100, Yacamán claimed his first Indy Lights pole position. He finished third in points with two victories (at Detroit and Toronto) and three runner-up finishes.
Yacamán retired from sports car racing in the 24 Hours of Daytona last year, driving the #6 Ford-Riley Prototype entry for Michael Shank Racing in the Rolex Sports Car Series. During the 2013 election at Belle Isle, Yacaman caused a lot of controversies. On the first lap of the season, Yacaman was attempting to make a move inside of Memo Rojas but Rojas' car was wide, throwing Rojas' car off-line and into a concrete barrier. The incident caused significant damage to Rojas' vehicle, as well as the capture of John Pew, a Yacaman teammate. Rojas and his teammate Scott Pruett did not win any points for the race, putting them at a significant disadvantage for the Championship. Yacamán achieved a best finish in the championship in second place at Lime Rock in the course of the season, placing eleventh in the standings.
Yacamán has entered the newly united United SportsCar Championship with OAK Racing; first with a Morgan LMP2-Nissan and then with a Ligier JS P2-Honda, so he finished eighth in the drivers' championship Prototype class.
Yacamán, a junior Lamborghini factory driver, joined the Blancpain GT Series for Team Lazarus in 2017.
