Guillermo Cabrera Infante Life

Guillermo Cabrera Infante (Spanish pronunciation: [ie-ka fante]; Gibara, 22 April 1929 – 20 February 2005) was a Cuban novelist, essayist, screenwriter, and commentator; in the 1950s, he used the pseudonym G. Cain for the screenplay of the cult classic film Vanishing Point (1971).

In 1965, a one-time promoter of Fidel Castro, Cabrera Infante's politics went into exile in London. He is best known for the book Tres triste tigres (literally: "three sad tigers"), which has been compared favorably to James Joyce's Ulysses.
