Gray O'Brien Life

Gray O'Brien (born Gerard O'Brien, 11 August 1968) is a Scottish television and film actor best known for his portrayal of the villainous Weatherfield businessman Tony Gordon in the popular ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 2007-2010, as Dr. Connor.

Richard McCaig of the BBC Medical drama Casualty from 1996-98. O'Brien was born in Glasgow and is the second youngest of seven children, and a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

He has appeared in many television shows, including Taggart, Peak Practice, River City (as serial womaniser Billy Davies), and the 2007 Doctor Who Christmas special, "Voyage of the Damned," despite being resident for a time in Cumbernauld.

In the 2006 motion picture The Queen, he played Prince Charles' valet. In September 2007, O'Brien appeared on Coronation Street as the brutal factory boss Tony Gordon.

In an interview, the actor reveals that he employs sense memory techniques, drawing on "something bad from the past" to emote his memorable performances.

"I'm sure most viewers believe that it's just a story," O'Brien said when asked about female reactions to his character's on-screen murder of murder love rival Liam Connor, played by pin-up Rob James-Collier. O'Brien received the 2009 British Soap Awards for his performance in October 2008, several months after the 2008 UEFA Cup Finals, O'Brien's obnoxious character made a jibe against Rangers F.C.

Complaints led to the omission of a similar line from the script of a later episode.

The star expressed surprise at the outrage, saying, "I'm a Celtic supporter, but I must be upfront that I certainly wasn't going to do anything to antagonize any Rangers supporters." "O'Brien's deal with Coronation Street had been extended to 2010," Coronation Street's producers reported in May 2009.

Gray died in Coronation Street when his character was killed off in a storyline in which Tony Gordon stranded Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh) and Carla Connor (Alison King) hostage in the Underworld factory, which he sets ablaze; his prisoners survive. He appeared in the pantomime Aladdin at the Opera House, Manchester, from 5 December 2009 to 3 January 2010.

He appeared on stage Royal, Nottingham's 11th most eligible man in February 2009 by a Scotland panel between 4 December 2010 and 16 January 2011.

"I actually find the heartthrob thing laughable," he said, adding: "I am just a working actor from Scotland, and I don't think of myself as particularly good looking." "O'Brien has also appeared on Lily Savage's Blankety Blank." In 2017, he appeared in ITV drama The Loch.

Personal life

O'Brien is divorced from Lynn, his wife Lynn, whom he married on May 9, 1996. They have a son named Conor (b). 2000) (who made a cameo appearance in a Coronation Street episode) was a narcotic. Eddie, O'Brien's late father, was also a fan of the long-running TV show. Jill Farimond, the make-up artist, began dating make-up artists in 2008, but it was announced in April 2009 that the couple had amicably split in April 2009. His father died as a result of a heart attack. Gray was diagnosed with stage 4 tonsil cancer in 2019. Gray has since recovered to full extent.
