Grace Chan (born 23 June 1991) is a Hong Kong-born Canadian actress, television show host, and beauty pageant champion.

Miss Hong Kong 2013 and 2014 Miss China International.

Chan made her acting debut in Overachievers, a 2014 film.

Early life

Grace Chan was born in Hong Kong and immigrated with her family to Vancouver, British Columbia, at the age of 5. She has a fraternal twin brother and an older sister. Chan is of Malay descent, thanks to her maternal grandmother. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a major in Communications and a minor in Publishing.

Personal life

Chan revealed on Instagram that she had been engaged to her boyfriend of three years, Kevin Cheng, of Hong Kong. They married in Bali, Indonesia, on August 12, 2018. Chan revealed on Instagram in February 2019 that she gave birth to their first son. In July 2020, she gave birth to their second son.

Career

On September 1, 2013, Chan was crowned Miss Hong Kong. She expressed delight at the start of the pageant that it was her childhood dream to become the Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Chan won a majority of the 170,000 votes cast by the Hong Kong audience as an early favorite. She has also been voted the Most Popular among Media and Most Popular Pageant on Scene awards. Chan immediately returned to Hong Kong for the pageant after completing her undergraduate studies, sacrificeing her graduation ceremony in Vancouver.

After nearly every segment, the organizers decided to change the contest's formula and instead introduced an elimination round.

Chan did not only appear in the pageant, but she is also the third representative from Hong Kong to have held both titles, the last two being attributed to Sonija Kwok 14 years ago. Cindy Zhong, Vancouver's most popular contestant, defeated her in Miss Chinese International 2014 and became the 2014 champion.

Chan has been named Miss Hong Kong after being awarded the title of boss of the TVB. She made her acting debut in the 2014 drama Overachievers. Chan played her first female leading role in the 2015 dramas Raising the Bar and Captain of Destiny. At the 2015 TVB Awards, she received the Best New TVB Artiste award as well as the Most Improved Female Artiste award.

After guest appearances in the drama Justice Bao: The First Year, Chan did not film any television dramas.
