Early life
Genevieve was born in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria, and grew up in Lagos. She was the fourth of eight children in a middle-class family; her father worked as an engineer, and her mother was a nursery school teacher.
Education
She attended Methodist Girls College (Yaba, Lagos) before moving to University of Lagos, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in creative arts. While attending the University, she began applying for acting positions in Nollywood.
Career
Nnaji began her acting career as a child in the then-popular television soap opera Ripples at the age of 8. With the film Most Wanted, she was introduced to Nigeria's burgeoning film industry at the age of 19. Last Party, Mark of the Beast, and Ijele are among her recent films. She appeared in the award-winning film Ijé: The Journey in 2010. She has appeared in more than 200 Nollywood films.
