Maggie Q Life

Margaret Denise Quigley (born May 22, 1979), also known as Maggie Q, is an American actress, model, and animal rights campaigner.

She is best known for her role in The CW action-thriller film Nikita (2010–13). In addition, Hannah Wells, a former FBI agent and CIA Case Officer, appeared in the political drama series Designated Survivor (2016–19).

She portrayed Tori Wu in the dystopian science-fiction action film Divergent (2014) and reprised her role in the sequels, Insurgent (2015) and Allegiant (2016).

Early life

In Honolulu, Hawaii, Q was born and raised. Her father is of Irish and Polish descent, and her mother is a Vietnamese immigrant. When her father was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, she and her mother met. She has four siblings and attends church.

Mililani Waena Elementary School and Wheeler Intermediate School were both in attendance. She then attended Mililani High School, where she was on the cross country, track and field, and swim teams. She won the title of "Best Body" senior year in 1997 and graduated in 1997. She received an athletics scholarship to a private university and planned to study veterinary science, but her family was unable to support her financially. She left Hawaii at the end of a one-year school year in the hopes of gaining enough funds to resume at the start of the new one.

Personal life

Dylan McDermott, her Stalker co-star, was announced on January 14, 2015. They said in 2017 that they were not in a hurry to marry. They ended their relationship in February 2019.

Q has five tattoos: a cross on her right forearm; Tibetan script; and a tiny triangle on her left forearm; a Zulu proverb; and one of a phoenix on her left hip; and one on her left hip; a phoenix on her left leg, which she has had to conceal for the majority of her roles except Nikita. Since her eardrums were damaged during a dramatic accident in 2010, she suffered a temporary hearing loss in her right ear.

She lives in Pound Ridge, New York.

Q has spoken out in favour of animal rights and has participated in PETA Asia's campaigns to promote vegetarianism. She has been a vegetarian for many years, but she has said that giving up meat was one of her most rewarding decisions she has ever made. "I feel better, I have more energy, on and off the camera, and knowing that I'm doing something to avoid animal suffering is a joy." She was named PETA Asia-Pacific's Person of the Year in 2008, and PETA named her one of the Best-Dressed Celebrities of 2008. She has since decided to eliminate all animal products from her diet by becoming a vegan. PETA named her one of the Top Vegans of 2017. She is now an ambassador for the Animals Asia Foundation.

At a friend's suggestion, Q started modelling in Tokyo, Japan, at the age of 17, before making a failed move to Taipei, Taiwan. She tried again in Hong Kong, where she began using Maggie Q because the locals were unable to pronounce Quigley properly. "I had twenty bucks in my wallet," she says, so it was not straightforward for her." I mean, I did the exact same thing as my mother did when she left Vietnam...didn't know the language... had no money." (Actress Anna May Wong was the first Asian American series guide of an American television series with her film The Gallery of Madame Liu-Tsong, which aired in 1951.) Q received mostly favorable feedback for her role in the series. "TV's Sexiest Crime Fighters" and "TV's Toughest Ladies" were among TV Guide's list of "TV's Sexiest Criminal Fighters" and "TV's Toughest Ladies" on television Guide's lists.

She resurrects her role in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, the third installment of the Divergent series, which was released on March 18, 2016. Hannah Wells, a top FBI agent, was revealed in February 2016 that she would co-star Kiefer Sutherland in ABC drama series Designated Survivor. Netflix's third and final season was released on June 7, 2019. However, her character was developed early in the final season.
