Frédéric Alexandre "Fred" Leclercq (born June 23, 1978) is a French musician and producer.

He is the guitarist and vocalist in Maladaptive's death metal band Sinsaenum, and he has joined Kreator, Germany's thrash metal band.

He appears in various other bands, including George Lynch's Souls of We, as a session musician.

He is also a former member of power metal bands DragonForce and Heavenly, and he has appeared in many Carnival shows in Coal and Sabaton.

Career

Leclercq joined Dragonforce as a replacement for Adrian Lambert on the Sonic Firestorm tour in 2005. He has released 7 albums with the band. He left the band due to his desire to explore other forms of music on his own. "I didn't want to get Fred because he's such a natural guitarist," guitarist Herman Liu said.

After having spent 25 years with the band, Kreator announced on September 16th, that Leclercq would replace Christian Giesler on Bass.

Leclercq initiated the musical project Amahiru with Japanese guitarist Saki in 2020. Saki performs lead guitar, while Leclercq plays lead, rhythm, and bass guitar. Both bands first met in Hong Kong in 2015, when Saki's band, Mary's Blood, opened for DragonForce. Archie Wilson, Dutch keyboardist Coen Janssen, and American drummer Mike Heller were among Amahiru's self-titled debut album's on November 27th, 2020. It also features shakuhachi actor Kifu Mitsuhashi, as well as guest appearances by Elize Ryd and Sean Reinert.
