Mrs. Bundy, the ornithologist in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), she is perhaps the best-known to modern audiences.

Career

Griffies appeared in numerous productions before her debut in London in 1899. Having made brief cameos in films since 1917, she began a full career in film production in the play Old English's film version and appeared in more than 90 film and television roles before her retirement in 1967. In two Jane Eyre versions, the 1934 Monogram version and the more well-known 1943 version, she appeared Grace Poole. Mrs. Bundy, an elderly ornithologist in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), one of her last well-known roles. She appeared in Billy Liar 1963, the same year as The Birds, and she performed in Billy Liar 1963.
