Career
Elli Ingram was born in Brighton, England, on July 14, 1993. She grew up in a musical household. Her father played in a band, her mother loved listening to Joni Mitchell, Reggae, and Ska, and her sister, who played the piano. A teacher entered Ingram at the age of 14, winning a talent competition. She began posting YouTube videos of song covers around the age of 18. "Poetic Justice," Kendrick Lamar's book "Poetic Justice," has more than a million viewers.
In 2013, Ingram and the English drum 'n' bass duo Chase & Status were on tour throughout Europe, and Ingram was on their album Brand New Machine. As a free digital download, she unveiled Sober, her first EP on Chase & Status' MTA label in July. Emil Nava's EP received a Best Newcomer Award at the MOBO Awards and a music video for the song "Mad Love," directed by Emil Nava, was nominated for Best Pop Video at the UK Music Video Awards 2013.
