Emeli Sande Life

Adele Sandé (SAN-day) (born 10 March 1987) is a British singer and songwriter who is best known as Emeli Sandé.

Sande, born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, and raised in Aberdeenshire by an English mother and Zambian father, rose to fame after being a featured artist on the 2009 Chipmunk album "Diamond Rings."

It was their first top ten single on the UK Singles Chart.

In 2010, she appeared on "Never Be Your Woman" by the rapper Wiley, which was another top ten hit.

She received the Brit Awards' Critics' Choice Award in 2012. Sandé released her first solo single "Heaven" in August 2011.

With "Read All About It" and "Beneath Your Beautiful," a partnership with Labrinth, she has two top-one singles around the UK and Ireland.

Our Version of Events spent ten weeks at number one before becoming the country's best-selling album with over 1 million sales.

She appeared in both the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the London Olympics in 2012.

She received two awards at the Brit Awards in 2013: Best British Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year. In 2016, she debuted her second studio album Long Live the Angels, which debuted at number two on the UK album chart.

She received the British Female Solo Artist award in 2017, her fourth win in total. Sandé was also inducted into the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 Birthday Honours for her contributions to music.

Early life

Adele Sandé was born in Sunderland, to a Zambian father, Joel Sandé, and an English mother, Diane Sandé-Wood, on March 10th, 1987. While her father was evicted from Zambia, she met her mother when they were both at the polytechnic in Sunderland. When she was four years old, the family moved to Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Sandé performed her first song at the age of 11, for her first-school talent showcase. That was "the first time I thought I might be a songwriter," she says. I knew I wanted to be a writer and I knew I wanted to write because the people I was listening to all wrote. "I never thought it was a possibility to perform someone else's songs." She wrote the first song, "Tomorrow Starts Again" – the album had proper structure and even a middle eight.

Sandé attended Alford Academy, where her father was a tutor. "I hated to be sick and missing a day because I was so eager to learn," she said. I was extremely shy, nerdy, and well behaved. It was inevitably, throughout secondary school, that it was part of my identity that I was a member of Mr. Sandé's family. Since it would've brought him right back to him within minutes, there is no way I could complain or get into trouble. And Dad was stifling, let me tell you. Sandé, a 15-year-old Sandé, was invited to London by Choice FM to compete in the "Rapology" competition. Richard Blackwood performed gospel in MTV's Camden studios. It was her first London appearance of her career. 23. By the time she turned 16, she had a lifetime contract with Telstar within reach. However, knowing that the university might have offered her a chance, she turned down the offer.

Sandé studied medicine in the University of Glasgow's five-year MBChB degree, but after obtaining a degree in clinical medicine, specialising in neuroscience, she left. She has said that education was incredibly important to her because, if her musical career faltered, she would have something to fall back on. Adrian Sykes, her company's CEO, had waited patiently since she was 16 years old: "Adrian really respects that I have an education behind me." "I also know that my parents are very concerned that I do not finish university."

Sandé has been inspired by many people throughout her life. Frida Kahlo, who was so popular that she had a tattoo of the artist's portrait on her forearm, was one of her main influence. She made the decision to get the tattoo, which, for her, represented power and courage. Kahlo was a source of inspiration for Sandé because of the extraordinary tale of her polio battle at a young age that inspired her art. She knew that her decision to pursue music and leave school would require a sense of apprehension that she gained by Kahlo's art.

Personal life

Sandé revealed in January 2012 that she had been engaged to her then unidentified, long-term boyfriend of seven years. Sandé said he was not in the music business but was a scientist. When the pair married in Montenegro on September 15, 2012, Sandé's fiancé was named marine biologist Adam Gouraguine. Sandé said she would legally use his name, but she would also be known as Emeli Sandé. Sandé announced in November 2014 that the couple had divorced after two years of marriage.

Sandé was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 Birthday Honours for services to music.

Sandé has been appointed as the University of Sunderland's new chancellor on May 23, 2019.

Sandé revealed in a Metro interview on March 31 that she was in a friendship with an unidentified female classical pianist. When asked if this means she is bisexual, she replied, "I'm not sure what I identify as but I guess so." I just feel like I should fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.' Sandé posted a snapshot of herself and her partner on Twitter on April 2nd. Sandé revealed her engagement to classical pianist Yoana Karemova in September 2022.

Emeli Sande Career

Career

Sandé's sister produced a video of her playing the piano and singing to "Nasty Little Lady," one of her favorite songs. The clip was sent to Trevor Nelson's BBC Urban music competition. Sandé won the show and was given a record contract, but the show's board, who she encountered via the competition, refused to approve the contract. According to Emeli Sandé's biography: Have You Heard, Emeli had become involved in the Urban Scot collective, which supported her and enhanced her career by promoting her in Scotland. Souljawn Records in Glasgow, which was on sale at gigs, was sold at gigs. Several songs were also available for download.

A CD of her songs was also sent by her parents to BBC Radio 1Xtra. Ras Kwame appeared on his "Homegrown Sessions" and four artists from last year were selected to appear in Soho. Sandé and Virgin Records and EMI Records soon signed a multi-year contract.

"I was doing a show in London for 1Xtra, and I ran into this guy named Naughty Boy," she said in an interview. We arrived in the studio and decided to focus on work. We just started writing, not necessarily for me; rather, we thought, 'let's write a pop tune and have a blast,' and experiment. And I had no idea of it. Naughty Boy sent it off to Chipmunk, who loved it so much and wrote his own story about it." In 2010, she signed a record deal with Virgin Records. In early 2011, she signed a new contract with EMI Records. Sandé made her singing debut in 2009 after appearing on the track she wrote for Chipmunk's debut single, "Diamond Rings." Sandé's second consecutive Top 10 Singles chart appearance followed her as she appeared on another single singing guest vocals after collaborating with Wiley on his comeback single "Never Be Your Woman." Sandé decided against using Adele Sandé due to Adele Sandé's increasing success, so she switched to her middle name instead. "I changed it as soon as Adele came out," she explained. I just thought, 'You've just taken the [name] now,' so I went with my middle name.' She was just getting bigger and bigger, so I thought I just really needed it.

Sandé's first solo album would be released in early 2011. After several newspapers reported that it will be "Daddy," there has been some rumors about which track she would debut. "Heaven" was her first official single from her forthcoming debut album, which was released on August 14th. The album received praise from blogs such as This Must Be Pop and Robot Pigeon. "Daddy" will be the second official single from Our Version of Events, according to the singer. Sandé's first number-one single on the UK Singles Chart debuted at number one after "Read All About It" debuted at number one on the charts.

Emeli Sande reveals why she had to cancel her wedding to girlfriend Yoana Karemova a year after their engagement

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 20, 2023
Emeli Sande has explained why she called off her wedding to her partner Yoana Karemova. The singer, 36, announced that she became engaged to the classical pianist in September last year, six months after Emeli revealed she was in the LGBT community and had a same-sex friendship with Yoana. And then they shocked followers this month when it was revealed that they would have to postpone their big day.

Review of Emeli Sandé by The Scottish singer's Unashamedly romantic new album, according to ADRIAN THRILLS

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 16, 2023
ADRIAN THRILLS: In the years after her meteoric breakthrough, Emeli Sande's fortunes plummeted. Having sung Abide With Me before a 900 million television audience at the London Olympics and seen her debut album, Our Version Of Events, become 2012' top seller, with the Scottish singer then sporting a perplexe quiff. The initial overexposure and timidity didn't help, though she went through a painful divorce. Bluthoutput: However, after releasing two underwhelming albums that lacked her old immediacy in 2016 and 2019, she's back on track, sans quiff, on last year's Let's Say For Instance, and she's at her best on How We Should Know. Let's Say... found her singing of resilience and revival (and occasionally falling into self-help cliche), her fifth album is unashamedly romantic.
