Career
O'Brien produced, directed, and starred in a number of short comedies, which he released through his personal YouTube channel before starting his acting career. He was also the drummer for the independent rock band Slow Kids at Play.
O'Brien's acting debut came as he appeared in Teen Wolf, MTV's most prominent film series loosely based on the 1985 film. He was supposed to play Scott but after reading the script, he decided to audition for the part of Stiles instead. He was cast in four auditions and began playing in 2010 and began to act in it.
In 2011, O'Brien was introduced to audiences in the completely improvised independent comedy film High Road. He appeared in the romantic comedy The First Time next year.
