Donal Skehan Career

Television and cooking career

Skehan served as an announcer on Bubble Hits, an Irish entertainment specialty channel, broadcasting music and entertainment news, as well as celebrity gossip segments.

Skehan, a dietitian, began Good Mood Food in 2007 and developed to a cookbook. Following numerous appearances on television and hosting live demonstrations at cultural gatherings and shows, he was featured in his own weekly food show, Kitchen Hero, which was launched on RTÉ One on May 16, 2011. He released Home Kitchen Hero, a cookbook based on the television show "Bringing Cooking Back Home." In 2012, a second series and a Christmas special were broadcast. The programme was first broadcast on UKTV network Good Food in April 2012. The show is now in its sixth year of production.

Skehan appeared on Junior MasterChef as both a host and judge in 2012, co-presenting John Torode and judge. Skehan launched his own dedicated YouTube channel in 2013 after appearing on Jamie Oliver's YouTube channel, Foodtube, which has since grown to over 1 million viewers.

In the second installment of the series, Skehan hosted a new series for Food Network UK, Follow Donal, which saw him explore Vietnam in a four-part series and then go on to visit ten European cities. Skehan is also on TV4 in Sweden's Mitt kök, where he speaks Swedish. Skehan is one of a number of regular guest presenters on BBC One's Saturday Kitchen, and has appeared on six editions of the show to date. At the Irish Book Awards in 2021, his book Everyday Cook won Cookbook of the Year.

Music career

Skehan was very early in music, and he was fascinated. He joined Streetwize, the global/international boy band project launched in 2006 (alongside Irish Lee Mulhern), English Lee Hutton, and Swedish Jonathan Fagerlund). The original participants appeared on CN8, a cable television station in the United States, where they performed "Room in Your Heart" in a morning show hosted by Greg Coy. Jonathan Fagerlund was disenchanted with the band's progress, and they were forced to be replaced by Venezuelan Antonio Jones and American Kyle Carpenter early in the game. Without a hit, Streetwize defunct.

Skehan performed in Eurosong 2008 on February 23, 2008 in the hopes of representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, with the track "Double Cross My Heart." It was a pop song written by Joel Humlen, Oscar Gorres, and Charlie Mason and performed by Skehan, consisting of two male and two female back-up dancers, as well as a male back-up singer. Skehan, Dustin the Turkey, Maja, Leona Daly, Liam Geddes, and Marc Roberts were among the Final 6 artists, with Dustin the Turkey winning the song "Irelande Douze Pointe" at the top of the charts.

Skehan, along with English Lee Hutton (his former bandmate in Streetwize) and Irish girl members Michele McGrath and Morgan Deane, joined the Irish band Industry in 2009. On the Irish Singles Chart, industry had success in the Irish charts, with two chart-toppers "My Baby's Waiting" and "Burn" in June 2009 and August of the same year. They were also a support act for The Pussycat Dolls at Fitzgerald Stadium in 2009. "In Your Arms," "My Mistake," "Drown in the Music," and "Kill the DJ" were not among the charts that were released later this year. In 2010, the band formed in 2010.
