Career

In 1989, Dilip Joshi began acting in the film Maine Pyar Kiya, portraying Ramu. Since then, he has appeared in many Gujarati dramas, one of which being Bapu Tame Kamaal Kari with Sumeet Raghavan and Amit Mistry, the trio known for their television show Shubh Mangal Savadhan. Joshi appeared on the film Yeh Duniya Hai Rangeen and Kya Baat Hai in which he played a South Indian. He has appeared in films including Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Hum Aapke Hain Koun!

Joshi has been playing Jethal Gada in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Chashmah since 2008. TMKOC has been around since 2008. He has been given multiple accolades for his participation in the program, including 5 Telly awards and three ITA awards.

Kabhi Woh, Hum Sab Baarati, Shubh Mangal Savadhan, Kya Baat Hai, Daal Mein Kala, and Meri Biwi Wonderful are among his other Hindi tele-serials. Uncle Tappu appeared in Agadam Bagdam Tigdam as well as in the 2009 films Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge and Ashutosh Gowarikar's What's Your Raashee.
