Career
Martin began his acting career as a stuntman on shows such as Doctor Who, but after breaking his collar bone filming the drama Elizabeth R (1971), he moved to acting. He appeared in the BBC television series Paul Temple as well as the ITV television series The Governor. Secrets of a Windmill Girl (1966), The Sex Thief (1973), Eskimo Nell (1975), Adventures of a Plumber's Mate (1979), and Boston Kickout (1995).
He co-starred Peter Dean in the BBC television series Law & Order in 1978, portraying Detective Inspector Fred Pyall. He played Det from 1981 to 1982. Insp. Berwick is the subject of two BBC drama The Chinese Detective is a film starring Elizabeth Berwick. He was the second actor to play R. D. Wingfield's fictional Detective Inspector Jack Frost, starring in a BBC radio version of A Touch of Frost. He appeared in an episode of Minder's season five in 1984.
