Dennis Elliott Career

Life and career

Dennis Leslie Elliott performed in shows around London at age five with his family band. As an adolescent, he and his older brother Raymond, who sang and played trumpet, joined The Tea Set. He became a member of The Shevelles at age sixteen after The Tea Set. He appeared in the band Ferris Wheel and on their album of the same name at eighteen. Dennis, a nineteen, formed If, a jazz/rock band that has released four LPs with the ensemble. They toured Europe and the United States, where they met and later married Iona Elliott on March 2, 1972. Dennis joined The Roy Young Band, performing in the United Kingdom and Europe, and recording four singles with the band over the next year.

Elliott toured and appeared on Ian Hunter's first solo album, Mott the Hoople lead singer Ian Hunter's. He immigrated to the United States in April 1975 and became a US Resident Alien.

When the band first formed in 1976, he was the original drummer for Foreigner. In January 1993, he officially departed.

Elliott converted to sculpture after leaving the music industry, mostly in the medium of wood. Many of his creations have been made of burlwood, sculpted wall mirrors, wall sculptures, and orbital sculptures, and many of his sculptures have been self-taught.

Elliott and his wife, Iona, were rescued by the US Coast Guard after descending from their yacht Charisma III, which had caught fire on June 2, 1990. Elliott became a citizen of the United States in 1993.

He appeared on "Hot Blooded" on January 9, 2013 at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. Original drummer Elliott and former bassist Rick Wills appeared on stage in Sarasota, Florida, on January 12, 2015. Elliott appeared with his old mates for two songs at a Foreigner's concert in Tampa, Florida, on August 2, 2017. On October 6-7, 2017, two of the original '40th Anniversary Reunion Shows' took place at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, where the old Foreigner team competed in one set and the original participants of the Head Games-era lineup: Mick Jones, Lou Gramm, Dennis Elliott, Al Greenwood, Ian McDonald, and Rick Wills were revived at the end with both players. The concerts were filmed for future broadcasting.

Elliott participated in the 'Reunion Show' at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota, where the new Foreigner group took the second set and the original members played the second together for the final.
