St Clair attempted to hide the water bottle of his Uruguayan counterpart, Sergio Rochet, during the shootout, but his plan was quickly rumbled. Rochet can be seen storming behind his goal just before Canada's second spot-kick, as he spies St Clair hide his water bottle behind the hoardings.

He joins Minnesota United after being a Manchester United assistant coach under Erik ten Hag for Manchester United in the Premier League. With the New England Revolution's help from none other than Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair, Franco Fragapane scored in the third minute of stoppage time to give Minnesota United a 1-1 draw. The shot stopper was brought up as an extra attacker for the 93rd minute corner and made the rare chance count by giving Fragapane a soft cushioned pass. He fired a spinning right-footed shot from the left side of the box into the far right corner of the goal. Fragapane's first game of the season came in St. Paul, Minnesota, at 6:00 p.m.
