David Bouley, the American chef who first introduced modern French cuisine to New York City after his death at the age of 70, has been lauded

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 14, 2024
Bouley's wife announced Monday that he died from a heart attack at his Connecticut home on Monday. He was born in the state to second-generation French parents in TriBeCa in the mid-80s as the head chef of the renowned Montrachet when it first opened in TriBeCa. The restaurant received a three-star review in The New York Times and helped the neighborhood establish itself on the culinary map. He followed that up with the opening of his own restaurant, Bouley, two years later, in Tribeca. While attracting a diverse group of prestigious customers, such as Naomi Campbell and Paulina Porizkova, the former set the tone for fine dining in the United States. It will eventually close after 30 years, but not before solidifying Bouley's place in New York restaurant history's annals.
