VJ Daniel, a.k.a. "Deni Daniel" is an Indonesian entertainer whose name emerged after winning the 2003 MTV Indonesia VJ Hunt.

Early life
Daniel spent his childhood in Jakarta, Indonesia. From kindergarten to the end of junior high school, he attended Tarakanita IV in Pluit, North Jakarta. Daniel left Perth, Australia, to complete his high school studies at Aquinas College. His childhood is seldom discussed, as he said he was socially awkward until high school. William Mananta, Daniel's older brother, has died.
Daniel took up part-time work at Nando's, first as a waiter and then as a manager. However, as the high school final exams came, he redirected his attention away from the part-time work to concentrate on his education.
Following graduating from Aquinas College, Daniel obtained a double degree: Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Finance and International Business at Edith Cowan University. He graduated in 2002 at the age of 20.
Daniel was working in Network 21, a multi-level marketing platform that sells Amway products, when looking for a job as a new graduate for six months. Daniel began enjoying public speaking as he was doing business presentations on a daily basis. He has worked at Citibank Australia for three weeks.
Personal life
He began dating later than most – he had his first marriage when he was 17 years old. In 2008, he was in a brief collaboration with Marissa Nasution, a tense union that came to an end. Daniel with singers Agnes Monica and Sandra Dewi had circulated rumors of him, but they have yet to be confirmed.

Career
Daniel returned to Jakarta at the end of 2002 after missing his homeland. He worked with his father, who owns a store in Mangga Dua, Jakarta. Mangga Dua's capital city is a thriving shopping hub. The work was not enjoyable, and he left in early 2003.
MTV Indonesia launched the MTV VJ Hunt 2003 event around the same time. Daniel put on his luck and entered the competition, progressing to become a finalist from 6000 contestants, and eventually emerged as the VJ Hunt's champion.
Daniel became a well-known celebrity within a short time. In 2004, he hosted the Red Carpet MTV Asia Awards.
